Note: This is not true Wasabi (Wasabi japonica). This is a mustard variety named after the Japanese plant. This variety is most commonly used for baby leaf production. Leaves have a pungent mustard flavour and are great for adding to salads, sandwiches, cooked dishes or as a garnish. Easy and quick to grow.


How to sow and grow:

Method: Sow direct
Sowing Depth: 5mm
When: Spring and autumn
Row Spacing: 50cm
Position: Part or full sun, moist soil
Plant Spacing: 50cm
Hardiness: Hardy
Days to Maturity/flowering: 45 days (baby leaf: 25 days)
Care: Protect from aphids and caterpillars. Susceptible to mildew.

High germination rate and fast growing. They are quite hardy, ours got attacked by green caterpillars but once removed they grew back strong. They also produce a lot of seed.
