Asian vegetable grown for its long stalks, small yellow flowers and thick green leaves. Unique flavour. Most commonly used in soups, stir fries and as a steamed vegetable. Harvest whole plant when it begins to bolt. Choi San is also known as Tsai Hsin and is a variety of Choi Sum(syn. Choy Sum).


How to sow and grow:

Method: Sow direct or raise seedlings
Sowing Depth: 8mm
When: Spring, autumn and winter
Row Spacing: 50cm
Position: Full sun, moist well drained soil
Plant Spacing: 30cm
Hardiness: Hardy
Days to Maturity/flowering: 50 days
Care: Protect from aphids, caterpillars and mildew.
