Biennial normally grown as an annual, growing to 60cm. High yielding variety with large, flat, dark green leaves and white ribbed stems. Silver beet is also known as "Swiss Chard" and is often confused with "Spinach".

How to sow and grow:

Method: Sow direct or raise seedlings
Sowing Depth: 15mm
When: Spring, summer and autumn (or anytime outside of frost)
Row Spacing: 50cm
Position: Full sun, moist well drained soil
Plant Spacing: 30cm
Hardiness: Hardy
Days to Maturity/flowering: 58-70 days
Care: Keep well watered. Cut leaves and stalks as required. Remove any flower stems as soon as they appear. Is susceptible to downy mildew and leaf spot.
