Chickpeas can be eaten fresh or dried for later use. Pleasant nutty flavour. Is used to in stews, salads, dips, cakes and to make a flour. Also known as Garbanzo Bean.


How to sow and grow:

Method: Sow direct or raise seedlings
Sowing Depth: 20mm
When: Late autumn, winter and early spring
Row Spacing: 60cm
Position: Full sun, moist well drained soil
Plant Spacing: 20cm
Hardiness: Hardy Annual
Days to Maturity/flowering: 100 days
*Notes: Keep well watered in hot weather. Chickpeas are hardy but flowers and fruit may drop in times of frost. Do not plant chickpeas in the same place as a previous chickpea crop for 3-4 years.
