Well known Mexican heirloom variety. Peppers are long and narrow, can reach 20cm in length. Peppers start off dark green ripening to a very dark burgundy brown. This variety is a medium heat with rich fruity slightly smoky flavour. Popular for using dried or powdered or fresh in sauces and marinades. Peppers appear almost entirely black once dried.
