Perennial shrub to 150cm. Dense habit with bluey-green leaves and an abundance of red pea shaped flowers resembling a cockatoo's tongue. This hardy Western Australian native plant is tolerant of coastal locations, windy sites, drought and poor soils. Flowers in winter and early spring. Loves dry warm climates, full sun and sandy or rocky soils. Great for attracting native birds. Also known as "Cocky's Tongues", "Coral Bush" and "Cock's Comb".
