Coir Seed Starter Pellets

Coir peat pellets. These neat little compressed peat pellets provide a complete growing medium ready for your seeds or cuttings. Wrapped in fully biodegradable netting the coir compound expands into a cylinder once soaked in water. Once seedlings are established and ready to plant simply dig a hole & plant the entire thing. Peat pellets are convenient and easy to use, preventing seedlings from transplant shock as there is no messing around with pots or potentially damaging the root system of your seedlings. Natural antimicrobial compound helps control any potential fungal issues. Compressed dried pellets are very lightweight and easy to store.
*Not suitable for tiny or weak seeds that would normally be grown in seed raising mix.

Instructions for use:

1. Place the pellets flat in a single layer in a waterproof tray.
2. Pour water over the pellets and wait for them to expand. Warm or hot water will work faster than cold water.
3. Once the pellets are fully expanded, drain any excess water from the tray.
4. Sow seeds at the desired depth, gently pinching the coir to cover the seeds. Sow one or two seeds per pellet. 
5. Water seeds as usual for seed raising, keeping the pellets wet at all times but never waterlogged.
6. If two seeds per pellet were sown, thin plants to one healthy seedling per pellet.
7. Once seedlings have at least one set of true leaves, plant the entire pellet in the garden with the top of the pellet level with the surface of the soil.
