Low growing trailing perennial growing to 50cm. Plants have floating stems and are best grow in clean slow flowing water but can also be grown in the garden as long as soil is kept wet. Hot mustard like flavour. Can be cooked but most commonly used fresh in salads and as a garnish. Also has medicinal uses. Very nutritious.
How to sow and grow:
Method: | If you are planning to grow your watercress in water its best to germinate the seeds in a dish of water and then move the plants to water once established. If you are planning to grow your watercress in the garden raise seedlings in a container filled with seed raising mix and submerge the container half it's depth in water |
