Strawberry- Alpine

I planted these seeds some 18 months ago so it takes a really long time to germinate seeds, have them grow into little delicate seedlings that need to be constantly kept moist. You have to be very patient. Now they're producing fruit and are even starting to grow some runners so I have them established. The fruit is very small and they're not producing much yet but it's tasty.

Strawberry- Alpine

I've tried multiple times but have had no luck. They germinate and grow tiny true leaves but then stall, never get any bigger than a few mm wide, then die off. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Strawberry- Alpine

Most incredible strawberry EVER! There is nothing that comes close to the delicious fragrance and otherworldly flavour of these. I knew these growing up in France as “fraises des bois”- woodland strawberries- and am so thrilled to be able to grow them myself. They’re pretty forgiving- the hardest thing is waiting until they’re as ripe as possible (which is longer than you think!). You should be able to smell the fruit from a metre away (it smells like strawberry flavouring

Strawberry- Alpine

Seeds work well and many alpine strawbs sprouted. After waiting for them to grow I was a tad disappointed in the flavour and decided to give space back to my regular strawberries. They would work great as a border.
