A scrambling perennial to 15cm spreading to 1m. Small, arrowhead shaped, semi-succulent grey-green leaves are arranged along the stems. Smalll yellow flowers bloom from summer to autumn followed by berry-like fruit that turns bright red and soft when ripe. The berries are edible and sweet and can be eaten raw or cooked. The leaves are also edible and can be eaten cooked; they have a salty and slightly bitter flavour. Mass plant as a dense groundcover in a native or dry garden or to scramble over tree stumps or fences. An insect and caterpillar food source.

Native to all states of Australia, growing in a range of soil and vegetation types. Also known as 'Climbing Saltbush' and 'Native Seaberry'.
