Multi-branched shrub with fine hairy leaves which start out magenta and mature to green. Leaves can be harvested and eaten cooked like spinach/silverbeet. Seeds can be cooked like quinoa and eaten or can be dried and ground into flour or used for making bread. Often grown as an ornamental. Tolerant of poor soil conditions


How to sow and grow:

Method: Sow direct
Sowing Depth: 5mm
When: Spring and summer
Row Spacing: 180cm
Position: Part of full sun, moist well drained soil
Plant Spacing: 80cm
Hardiness: Hardy
Plant Height: 240cm
Days to Maturity/flowering: 45 days
*Notes: Pinch out tips to encourage bushy growth. Can become weedy if left to go to seed.
