A multi-branched evergreen shrub growing up to 3m high and 2m wide, with elongated deep green leaves covering erect branches. Golden pea flowers marked with orange bloom in dense clusters at the ends of branches bloom in spring and early summer. Use in a wildflower or native garden. Grows best in a cool climate. Frost and drought tolerant.
Native to high altitude woodlands and forests in Tasmania, Victoria, NSW and Queensland where it generally grows in well-drained, poor soils. Also called 'Common Shaggy Pea' and 'Golden Rosemary'.
Note: Seeds of many native plants are dormant and will not germinate until ideal environmental conditions are met. Follow instructions for pre-treatment and sowing, and be patient; some wild harvested seeds can take much longer to germinate than expected.
