Annual rosette forming plant growing to around 30cm high. Often used as a salad green, Miner's Lettuce has a fresh crisp flavour and fleshy succulent textured leaves. Leaves, stalks and flowers can be harvested fresh and used in salads or can be boiled and eaten like spinach. Grows all year round in cool positions in dappled sunlight. Great for growing under trees. Loves sandy well drained positions and tolerates poor soil conditions and harsh cold winters. Can be used as a ground cover. Hardy. Easy to grow. Also known as "Winter Purslane" or "Indian Lettuce".
