Short lived perennial to 90cm. Serrated mid-green leaves on a compact plant producing tall wiry stems with large solitary flower heads in a mixture of colours which may include various shade of pink, purple and white. Great for cut and dried flowers, cottage gardens, borders and beds. Low maintenance and drought tolerant once established. Great for attracting bees, butterflies and beneficial insects to the garden. Has a history of medicinal uses, was once used to treat scabies. Also known as "Sweet Scabious", "Pincushions", "Mournful Widow" and "Scabieuse".
