Perennial to 200cm. Produces an upright woody shrub with large green leaves and a shallow root system. Fruit is egg-shaped, starting green and ripening to yellow then orange. The flesh of this variety is sweeter with less acid than the red variety and can be eaten fresh, stewed or turned into jam or chutney. Likes regular watering, free draining soil, full sun and protection from wind. Fruit is formed on new growth; pruning after winter is recommended. Can be grown in large pots in cooler climates and moved indoors over winter. Also known as 'Ecuadorian Tomato'.
